Established Customs & International Trade Consultancy Expands to East Anglia

Felixstowe expansion brings customs expertise closer to the port community.

Brightfinch, a leading UK-based specialist in customs and international trade, has announced the opening of a new strategic port office in Felixstowe.

Trading since 2018 and headquartered in Manchester, Brightfinch has built a reputation for navigating the complexities of the UK supply chain. The move to Felixstowe, Suffolk, places the firm’s expert team at the doorstep of the UK’s busiest container port, providing direct support to the importers, exporters, and logistics providers operating within the region.

Neil Bird, Managing Director at Brightfinch, commented:

“Felixstowe is one of the UK’s most significant trade hubs. We already have a strong client base in the region, and we’re seeing it grow as we can now service businesses on-site at short notice, which HMRC often requires for visits and audits. This expansion forms part of our growth strategy and a vital way to deepen our connection with the businesses in the area.”

Holly Tonge, Founder of Brightfinch, added:

“Opening in Felixstowe is essential for us to understand the needs of the local community by gaining access to business groups in the region. With our Head Office in Manchester and our new office now in Felixstowe, where Neil will be based, we can be a more active part of this vital community which keeps our country moving.”

The company celebrated the expansion with an official launch event on 12th March at their new premises in Orwell House, a building synonymous with the local logistics industry, and then later at a private event at The Little Wine Bar in Felixstowe.

Brightfinch provides a comprehensive suite of services, including:

  • Customs Authorisations: Specialising in getting goods across borders efficiently and in a tax-optimal position for cashflow or duty savings
  • Strategic Planning: Internal procedures, quality standards and accreditations for companies specifically within the international trade industry
  • Expert Oversight: Managed customs approvals and departments by our experienced team, taking the burden away from internal teams
  • Helpdesk services: Providing swift answers on a range of topics from customs declaration errors to international trade documentation queries

The Felixstowe office will complement the Manchester headquarters by providing local consultations, bespoke training, and tailored customs advisory and support.
