Driver CPC five-year cycle deadline approaching – are your drivers up to date?

Drivers must complete 35 hours of CPC training every five years, and the deadline for many is Monday, September 9.

Hauliers should be reminded that the deadline to renew in September is fast approaching for drivers who gained their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) before 2019.

Drivers must complete 35 hours of CPC training every five years; the deadline for many is Monday, September 9, 2024.

We understand that huge numbers of Driver Qualification Cards (DQC) are due to run out, so operators should encourage drivers to check that they have completed 35 hours. They can do that here.

If they haven’t completed it, we urge them to do so as soon as possible.

If they miss the deadline, they cannot drive professionally until they finish their training, and they could be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without having a Driver CPC.
