KWL Logistics makes a double appointment and recognises colleague milestone

Import supervisor and warehouse administrative assistant added to the 16-strong team as former apprentice celebrates 10 years with the global freight forwarder.

Offering a wealth of worldwide freight forwarding expertise, KWL Logistics is also skilled at seeking out and retaining the best talent around.

Shining a spotlight on three of its members in this edition of Porttalk, Jason Flower, KWL’s Managing Director, says: “With every one of our 16 strong team passionate about what they do, our reputation and our ability to exceed customers’ expectations is due in no small part to the commitment and dedication of our employees.

“It gives me great pleasure to take this opportunity to congratulate Emily Roper on achieving ten years of service here at KWL. Exemplifying the dedication of our colleagues, Emily joined us as an apprentice supporting our import team in 2013. From the start of Emily’s career in Freight Forwarding, you could see her eagerness to learn, always wanting to understand the entire job function, which enabled her to offer the customer the best solution. With the knowledge Emily has built up over the last ten years, I would say Emily is one of the company’s most well-regarded and valued team members.

Emily says: “Thoroughly enjoying being part of the KWL Logistics family, I give full credit to my colleagues for helping me get to where I am today. I’m sure there will be many new challenges in this ever-changing industry over the next ten years, but I’m confident my colleagues and the company can deal with just about anything.”

Jason continues: “With two new recruits, I’m also delighted to introduce Michael and Maria.

“Michael Westgate joins us in the role of import supervisor. Bringing with him a host of existing customs and VAT knowledge and relevant qualifications to fulfil the role, Michael has hit the ground running, and his efforts are already making a difference.

“Last but not least, a big KWL welcome is extended to Maria Bodor, who has joined the company as a warehouse administration assistant for our warehousing/container logistics department. Maria’s previous experience in warehousing and transportation ensures that one of our busiest departments is in safe and capable hands.”
