We Prep expands with acquisition of D&M Logistic SolutionsRaptor Logistics Group strengthens its offering with bonded and ETSF warehousing capabilities in Ipswich.
We Prep E-commerce Logistics & Fulfilment has announced the successful acquisition of D&M Logistic Solutions, marking the latest phase of expansion for parent company Raptor Logistics Group.
Founded in 2019, We Prep specialises in providing e-commerce fulfilment services for online retailers, complemented by We Ship Global Forwarding, established in 2020, which manages international freight solutions. Together, the two companies employ 25 people across their Felixstowe operations.
Formed in 2023, Raptor Logistics Group combines We Prep and We Ship under one umbrella, with a clear vision for growth through strategic acquisitions. The purchase of D&M Logistic Solutions, founded in 2011, marks the group’s first major step toward that goal.
Based across offices in Felixstowe and Ipswich, D&M provides a comprehensive range of services, including ETSF and bonded warehousing, container unloading, UK and European transport, short and long-term storage, outside storage, and handling of out-of-gauge cargo. The business employs five full-time staff and several handball teams at its 75,000 sq ft Ipswich site.
D&M will continue to trade under its existing name while operating as part of Raptor Logistics Group, joining We Prep and We Ship as a standalone company within the expanding network.
Speaking about the acquisition, Fred Benfield, owner of We Prep E-commerce Logistics & Fulfilment, said:
“This acquisition marks an exciting milestone for Raptor Logistics Group and our next phase of growth. D&M brings specialist expertise and valuable infrastructure that enhances our group’s offering and strengthens the services we can provide to our customers. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of the We Prep and We Ship teams. Matt, our Managing Director, has given us the confidence to take this step forward, and we’re proud to welcome more great people into our business as we continue to grow and expand in the years ahead.”
Fred extended thanks to Gareth Thomas, former owner of D&M Logistic Solutions, for his support in completing the transaction, as well as to the dedicated deal team: Simon Letts and Rebecca Gent at Aquabridge Law, Andy Smith at Abbeygate Accountancy, and David Read at Complete Finance.
With integration now underway, the Raptor Logistics Group will continue to operate business as usual across all three companies, ensuring customers receive uninterrupted service through the busy Q4 period.
Looking ahead, the group plans to align operations and working practices across its businesses before considering further acquisitions in the longer term.
“We’re building something sustainable,” Fred added. “A group that combines experience, flexibility, and innovation – and one that continues to evolve to meet the needs of our customers.”
Arthur Horrigan, Co-owner of Raptor Logistics Group, added:
“We’ve been genuinely impressed by the brilliant team we’ve inherited at D&M. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and positive attitude towards the small changes we’ve introduced since completion have been fantastic. It’s great to see how open and engaged everyone has been – it’s a real testament to the strong culture already in place and a perfect fit for the wider Raptor Group.”
